Historic Environment Scotland
Historic Environment Scotland wanted a mobile application to help customers find and explore their historic sites as a replacement for traditional printed guides. The app would offer all the key information about each location.
We created a simple, elegant design which allows users to easily view key attraction details. We also implemented a search function providing results based on location, type of attraction and price.
The ‘Near Me’ tool identifies all Historic Scotland attractions close to the user through their location settings. The ‘Inspire Me’ screen includes featured content, seasonal events and pre-planned itineraries to boost footfall.
The Historic Scotland app provides a smooth informative environment for the user. Since launch it’s received 5-star ratings, excellent reviews and a Marketing Star Awards nomination.
Downloads of the Historic Scotland app have surpassed 150,000. With the recent visual update and new itinerary builder, visitor return rates continue to surpass market trends.
